A miracle

We all root

for a miracle

in a time of need

but forget we’re our own

changemakers who

can ignite a fire

with just a spark,

the miracle is

in our hands

we have been looking

at the wrong places.

My playground and garden

and just like every other day I tell
the woman in the mirror each morning that
the world is not just my playground it
is my garden where I can choose to
plant the roses and
water them with love or
let the weeds consume the
beauty I fail to envision so I tell
the woman in the mirror that while
the world is my happy playground bustling
with
curiosity
it is also my beautiful garden exploding
with
positivity.🌹

Lost Angels

we’re all angels in this world, but we do not know because we forget how much we have to offer, the gifts we can give are all drowned in our own pursuits of what society demands from us, and that is the same society that begs our altruism, but how could we find our hidden angels again when the same path to altruism is rigged with competition, popularity masked under each act of charity, how could we tell the authentic from the inauthentic any more in this world of fabrication, I yearn for the angel we were all born with that began glowing right in our mothers’ wombs and then into her soft embrace, the angels are on earth, but they’ve lost their paths, because we forgot about them.

Sugar dust

I want to sprinkle some sugar dust on you, to tell you how much sweetness you deserve in this world that has robbed your beautiful soul its innocence, the bitterness you are drowning in is what I want to save you from, these choppy waves of heartbreak have made you forget the divine seashells on the shore, I just need you to pick one up and observe it, listen to the sounds of the angels calling you back home to your true self, which I will bring back with some sugar dust.

we need time

we need time to recuperate
not only from a physical wound or illness
but from the mental stress
we have to put ourselves
through at work or school
and not everyone recuperates
at an equal pace
so when you told me five days
should have been enough to relax
you forgot to understand
what i was going through
when you told me a month’s rest
should prepare me for the world
you forgot to observe my silence
during my recuperating period
when you told me i’ve slacked too much
you forgot to ask me what i really wanted
i needed time for myself in ways i can only
decide but your advice would have been
welcomed if only
you understood.

the piece

I cut myself loose from this puzzle
with a snap from the scissors but
it won’t stay away insofar as
these feelings find themselves
right back into the same incision
to fill it as though
they’re screaming at me to go back
to where I was and start again
because I belonged there,
but I don’t want to be a piece of this puzzle
I cannot fathom, I want to be
the one who can mess the pieces
so you can feel
like a piece of my puzzle for once
