Crave for creativity

The crave for creativity intensifies

when one realisesΒ its meditative powers

and its intoxication for peace

once the life is consumed in the mundane affairs

to save the roof over the head and the rice on the plate

but how could we forget that creativity is the bread and butter

for a life that is fulfilling

one that makes the mundane seem enlightening

one that turns the profane to sacred…

one that is worth living

Crawling in circles

It pricked each time the thoughts ran

Like that demon who’d been on a chase

Not an ordinary one, it’s a monster

They say it’s about perspective

It’s true but where’s the silver lining

If perspectives are meant to be countered

I’d be crawling, not running, in circles

Because most of the time,

It’s unbearable.

One more time

I have told myself to reach the surface each time the wave attempts to pull me into the deep dark hollows of the ocean, and each time I emerge with the sun’s rays shining on me, I smile in victory at the death of the demons I fought, yet they return to drown me into the same black pits, and I type this with a tight chest, heavy breathing, hoping these string of words will cease the palpitations and I can swim up to the sun’s glow one more time.

An unusual shift

an unusual shift from chaos to peace
leaving me a dearth of feelings I once found familiarity with
what is anxiety, stress or annoyance
or what is being happy in contrast to all these
like an empty page in a fresh notebook off the shelf
my pen is inkless as I write in twirls
the words are there but invisible
like the blank slate of my mind
a child’s innocence in a new enclosure
I’ll wait for time to paint some colours on the paper
as I wait to see how beautiful this page will be
watch it narrate this new path of a life
that felt strange the moment I stepped into an unusual shift from chaos to peace
